Fly Tying Bead Size Chart - I got an intermediate line, and can't believe how much faster a size 2 with a medium lead eye sinks. Now that the shop has moved ( again) i can't physically hold the beads in my hand, so my problem is i never actually learned what size bead fit what size hook. If you also get a chance to go to a fly shop, there are cyclops bead packages that have a size breakdown on the outside of the pack. I'm now using smalls on a size 2. Does anyone know of a pdf or web site that may have a chart like this? In other words, one size in one brand may not be the same size in.
I also have some hot colored ones. On the back of the packages, there is usually a chart that tells what bead size matches what hook size but not always. Find which bead fits which hook the best, and dump the right size bead in with the right size hook. I just bought a pack of wapsi cyclops beads in 7/64 and they're supposed to fit 12,14,16. It might sound messy, but in fact it is very organized way to keep your nymph hooks and beads i always have. The size of the beads usually cover 2 hooks sizes. Bead chain (depending on pattern, like a crazy charlie) i'll use.

That Way, Whether I Am Tying A Regular Fly Or A Beaded Fly, I Just Reach Into That Compartment And Grab Either A Hook, A Bead, Or Both.

What bead size goes with what range of hook size. A size 7/64 or 1/8 should fit if you use barless hooks or crimp down the barb.
