Sausage Casing Size Chart - Could someone please tell me what casings will work with the tubes. From what i have read you are supposed to slide the casings over the tube then tie the end off and start filling but most of the snack stick kits i have found come with 19mm casings and the charts i have found that correlate tube size to casing size say i need to be around a 28mm casing for that tube (midwestern research). I believe the quality of the casings is part. Just enough pressure to fill the casing. All that being said, i have no idea how these guys come up with their numbers. 82/237 = 0.34 x 5 oz.
I use the ones for fresh sausage in the smoker with no problems. Remember, the stick will shrink in size as it is smoked/heated or dehydrated. The sausage comes right out. I would not go with the 17mm. I believe the quality of the casings is part.

I would not go with the 17mm. The cellulose will stretch , so the end size depends on how tight you stuff them. 21mm are hot dog casing size. Just enough pressure to fill the casing. Also you could try a sheep casing.

Also you could try a sheep casing. Don't let the phrase peel off casings worry you. I use naturals 99.9% of the time when making sausages be it sheep or hog casings. I was thinking i would like to do 16mm casings. I was hoping to get a snack stick tube. I would not go with the 17mm. Also the 17mm casings are a pain to get on even the 3/8 stainless tubes.
